Jamie Gordon - founder and Managing Director of the Silvertree Group - has had over 20 years experience working in the wilderness, both in the far north of Canada and in the most remote regions of Great Britain. During his time in Canada Jamie learnt all the skills you need to survive in the wild, starting as a wrangler, bush cook and general hand. He learnt all the skills needed to pack horses, navigate, set up camp and ensure everyone was well-fed.

His skills and aptitude led him on to progress and become a guide in Northern Alberta and in the Yukon territories. He learnt how to track and identify animals, how to read rivers and mountains. Most important of all, he learnt how to overcome the mental barriers we all put in place when faced with truly being alone, and all the hard skills necessary to not only survive but to THRIVE in any environment.

Jamie currently lives on the borders of Devon, Dorset and Somerset with his wife and four children.

Jackie is a very experienced primary school teacher, holding a BA (Hons) from the University of Wales and a post-graduate diploma in Countryside Management, as well as her PGCE. She specialises in outdoor and environmental education, running many field trips.

Jackie has 15 years experience of working with children. She is a woman with many skills including mountain leadership, chainsaw use, hedge-laying and has even had experience of nature reserve management and sheep farming!

Jackie lives in Devon, with her husband Mike, and their three children.
